Louise Grant
Louise ‘Lou’ Grant is a Counselling Psychologist / Somatic Experiencing™ practitioner well versed in treating a wide range of moderate to severe mental health issues and complex presentations.
She has considerable experience working with past and recent traumas; grief and loss; depression and anxiety; life transitions and end of life planning.
In the last 10 years Lou has delivered individual, couples and group therapy in private practice and organisations including; headspace, The Marian Centre, Department of Child protection, South Metropolitan Community Drug service, Murdoch University and Like Minds Clinic.
Her work is client-centred and seeks to offer a respectful, safe, and non-judgemental space for clients to explore their difficulties, adopt positive coping strategies, find meaning, and enhance their psychological wellbeing.
Her approach is integrative and places primary focus on the therapeutic alliance as a confidential and safe space for healing and growth. Treatment modalities drawn upon include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Existential Therapy, Emotionally Focussed and Attachment based Developmental Psychotherapies and other evidence-based models. Also trained in body based psychotherapies including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Somatic Experiencing™.
She provides education, training and supervision. AHPRA approved supervisor across all pathways for Psychological registration. Offers supervision to mental health and allied health clinicians in a variety of roles and settings.
